Mother's Day, so far

Today, we maintained a Baker Family Tradition for either Mother's Day or my mother's birthday (they're only about 2 weeks apart). We went on our annual asparagus picking outing at Pendleton's Kaw Valley Farm. Beforehand, we stopped at Winstead's for some good ol' American eating. This year, we also brought along my dad's mother. It was fun, like usual, but very windy. Lilly (the dog) had a great time, like usual, rooting out field mice and their nests, birds, and the like. We picked a whopping 5.5 lbs of asparagus and some spinach. And (yay!) they still have this 1930's tractor that I used to love to climb on and play with. The place looked great, considering on March 12, a major tornado wiped out most of the farm buildings. Now I'm home doing homework (poo).
